The warrior poet blood that flows in my veins is of Celtic origin. I acknowledge this fact with pride. The Celt Wars were a time of betrayal, bloodshed, and death in staggering numbers. Fathers and sons died leaving women and children to play on. Winters in the highlands of Scotland are brutal. Those same survivors of the wars were lost in great numbers in the aftermath. Despite this, the Celts, being of warrior spirits, would gather in peace to mourn the passing, and celebrate the life of each warrior, woman and child, in song and dance. I wrote this lyric as well as music in their memory. Gather the Clans in Peace -- with hearts of joy and sorrow, to celebrate lives marking time on standing stone. Bring me thunder on distant drums, ancient runes of warrior poets, o'er moors of love and bloody ruin washed warm in tears. Lay down your arms bring minstrel love and primal dreams to mourn and love our spirits washed warm in tears.
